Located on West Fulton just a few blocks from the Van Andel arena and Grand Valley State University downtown campus, Vito's Pizza has been serving customers in the greater Grand Rapids area for over 30 years.
The Vito's Pizza history began as Steve's Pizza in 1973 at the corner of Fulton and Straight in a old converted Polish Tailor Shop.
In 1979 when the current owner found out that the business was for sale, he bought it and changed the name to Vito's Pizza. After years of long days and hard work, Vito's Pizza was able to buy an abandoned gas station at 658 W. Fulton, just 2 blocks away. The family did all the renovations themselves. So as not to disappoint the neighborhood, the night of Jan 4th, 1985 Vito's Pizza closed at its normal time of 3 am, moved all the ovens and equipment to the new location and opened right on time that day at 4 pm.
In August of 2010 Hollywood came to town and took over Vito's Pizza. Stars came and went as the Ben Stiller Production of "30 Minutes or Less" filmed Michigans biggest budget film in history. The building was painted, new signs were made and the dining area was staged with old worn out booths and tables. To the surprise of many customers, Jesse Eisenburg delivered pizza's, Nick Swardson rolled the dough and cameras were rolling-everywhere.
